Changing Your MeetGeek Email
How to update the email on your MeetGeek account by changing it in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 — your past meetings, recordings, and settings stay intact.
You don't change your email inside MeetGeek. You change it in your calendar provider — Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 — and MeetGeek picks up the new address from your connected calendar. After the sync, you'll be asked to reconnect your calendar and go through a short onboarding flow. All of your past meetings, recordings, summaries, templates, and account history stay attached to the same user.
How does the email change work?
MeetGeek uses your Google or Microsoft calendar account as the source of truth for your identity. When the email on that calendar account changes, MeetGeek detects the new address on your next sync and updates your MeetGeek login email to match. There's no separate request to make to support and no email field to edit inside the app.
What do I need to do?
Three steps:
1. Change your email in Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
Update your email address through your workspace admin or your personal Google/Microsoft account settings. This is done outside of MeetGeek — your IT admin or workspace owner usually handles this.
2. Reconnect your calendar in MeetGeek
After your email is updated at the provider, sign in to MeetGeek with your new email. You'll be prompted to reconnect your calendar because the previous authorization was tied to your old email.
Go to the Integrations & Automations page.
Find your calendar (Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook) and click Reconnect.
Authorize with the new email.
3. Complete the onboarding flow
MeetGeek walks you through a short onboarding flow to confirm your meeting preferences (auto-join settings, default template, recording disclaimer). Your previous settings carry over as defaults — accept them as-is or adjust.
Will I lose my recordings if I change my email?
Short answer: no. Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and highlights are tied to your MeetGeek user account, not to your email address. When the email is updated, the user record stays exactly the same — only the login identifier is replaced. Nothing in your meeting history is deleted, hidden, or moved.
Why don't I lose anything?
MeetGeek identifies your account by an internal user ID, not by your email. Your email is the label you use to log in, but the recordings, settings, and meeting data are linked to the user ID underneath. Changing the label doesn't change the data it points to.
What's preserved when my email changes?
Everything that lives on your MeetGeek account:
All past meeting recordings, transcripts, summaries, and highlights — including chapters and action items
Your Custom Meeting Templates and Dictionaries
Plan and billing history — Pro, Business, or Enterprise subscription, PAYG settings, invoices, payment method, renewal date
Team memberships — both teams you've created and teams you've joined
Sharing rules and automated workflows
API keys and webhook configurations
The only things that need a manual touch are the calendar reconnection and the onboarding confirmation — both happen the first time you log in with the new email.
What about my calendar and CRM integrations?
Calendar connections (Google or Microsoft) and CRM integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Close, Attio, Zoho) are authorized against your original email, so they need to be reconnected once after the change. Messaging integrations (Slack, WhatsApp) are the same.
When you sign in with your new email, MeetGeek prompts you to reconnect your calendar as part of onboarding. For CRM and messaging integrations:
Go to the Integrations & Automations page.
Find any integration showing as disconnected.
Click Reconnect and authorize with the new email.
Your past meeting data and any workflow configurations stay in place — only the connection token is refreshed.
What if I don't use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?
The automatic sync only works for Google and Microsoft calendar accounts. If you sign in to MeetGeek another way and need an email change, contact us at [email protected] and we'll handle it manually.
Can I change a team member's email this way?
Yes — your team member changes their own email at their Google or Microsoft provider, and MeetGeek picks it up the same way. As the plan owner or admin, you don't need to do anything in MeetGeek for the change to take effect on their account. Their plan, team membership, and shared meetings stay intact.
If your team member can't change their email at their provider for some reason, contact us at [email protected] — the request needs to come from the plan owner or an admin.
What if I created a new MeetGeek account by mistake instead?
If you created a new MeetGeek account under your new email, the recordings on your old account stay on the old account — they don't transfer automatically. To consolidate, contact support at [email protected] and we'll merge the two accounts so all recordings end up under one user.
Recommendation: Always change the email on your existing account through your calendar provider rather than creating a new MeetGeek account. It preserves everything in one place and avoids billing duplication.
