In this article, we will explore how to control MeetGeek Notetaker during a meeting, allowing it to record either the entire conversation or just a part of it.

Let’s cover the following topics:

How to stop MeetGeek from recording the meeting

Sometimes, you may need to stop recording a meeting that has already started. MeetGeek provides you with several options for doing so.

- How to remove MeetGeek from Zoom meeting room

  1. In the bottom menu of your Zoom meeting room, click on the "Participants" tab.

  2. Look for {Your name} Meetgeek Notetaker (or the custom name of your bot) in the list and click "More".

  3. Click "Remove".

- How to remove MeetGeek from Google Meet meeting room

  1. Click on the "three dots" icon located right on your MeetGeek's Notetaker name.

  2. Select "Remove from the call".

- How to remove MeetGeek from Microsoft Teams meeting room

  1. In the meeting room, click the "Participants" tab.

  2. Click on the {Your name} Meetgeek Notetaker (or the custom name of your bot) and choose the "Remove" option from the dropdown menu.

- How to remove MeetGeek from a meeting if you're not the host

If you are not the host of the meeting but are using MeetGeek to record the call, you can stop the recording of the conversation from your MeetGeek account.

  1. Go to "Upcoming meetings" in your MeetGeek account

  2. Find your live meeting at the top of the list, and click "Pause" next to it.

  3. MeetGeek Notetaker will immediately leave the meeting room and stop recording.

How to pause/resume the recording with MeetGeek

If you do not want to remove MeetGeek from the meeting room but need to exclude a certain part of the conversation from the record, you can use the "Pause" functionality to temporarily stop the recording and then resume it later on.

To do this, again go to your Upcoming Meetings page in your MeetGeek account, find your live meeting at the top of the list, and click "Pause" next to it.

To resume recording, invite [email protected] back into the meeting as shown below in the example of the Google Meet event.

Alternatively, you can navigate to your Upcoming Meetings page in MeetGeek and click on "Record" next to the meeting name.

Merging multiple recordings

If you pause and record multiple times for the same meeting, Meetgeek will merge the recordings and associate them with one single meeting for you.
