How Does the MeetGeek Chrome Extension Work
A. Chrome Screen Recorder
If you prefer not to use the MeetGeek bot or are having issues with bot permissions, the MeetGeek Chrome Recorder is a great alternative. It allows you to capture and transcribe meetings directly from your browser, without needing the bot to join.
β
Use the widget on the left side of your screen and click the video camera icon to start recording:
Note: The widget only shows up on the meeting page when using the browser version of Google Meet, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams
B. Bot Recorder
Use the widget on the left side of your screen and click the second icon (sparkle icon); this will trigger an invitation for the note taker to join as a guest in your calls.
β
Note: It takes up to 1 minute for the bot to join the call in the lobby room. You need to make sure the bot is also admitted into the call
C. Access Past Meetings
Click the 'Folder' icon to access the tab with your most recent past meetings. From there, you can click on any meeting to open it in a separate window and review the recording, transcript, or summary.
D. Manage Notetaker Join Settings for Scheduled Calendar Meetings
Click the 'Calendar' icon to see all your upcoming and scheduled meetings.
From this tab, you can make quick edits to your upcoming meetings, such as:
Pause and resume the recording of your running meeting
Skim through your upcoming meetings
Toggle on/off the settings for the notetaker to join the meeting or not
Change the language or select a different template for the meeting
E. Add MeetGeek Notetaker to an Ad-hoc Meeting from the Side Panel
Click the 'Upload' icon in the extension window to invite the notetaker to your live meeting or to any call that isn't scheduled in your calendar.
β
Proceed with one of the following methods:
a) Click the 'Copy Email' button and send an email to the copied address to invite the notetaker to join you.
β
b) Preferred: Enter the meeting link in the 'Invite via link' field and click on 'Invite notetaker'.
Once you're done, you will see the success message. It means that the notetaker will soon join the meeting.
β
Note: It takes from 30 to 60 seconds for the notetaker to join your ad-hoc meeting.
