Asana Quickstart Guide

Connect Asana to MeetGeek to turn meeting highlights into tasks and sync summaries to your projects.

Written by Dan Huru

Asana integrates with MeetGeek to turn your meeting highlights into Asana tasks and sync full summaries to your projects. Once connected, action items become tasks in the workspace and project you choose. Create tasks from a past meeting on demand, or set a workflow to handle every future call.

In this guide:

Connect Asana to MeetGeek

  1. In the MeetGeek dashboard, go to the Integrations & Automations page and click the Asana card.

  1. In Asana, choose your account and click Allow to grant MeetGeek access to the workspace you want to sync.

  1. You'll be redirected back to the MeetGeek Integrations & Automations page. The integration is now active.

Set your default Asana settings

On the Integrations & Automations page, click the four dots in the upper-right corner of the Asana card and select Settings to set your account defaults.

Note: These defaults pre-fill your workflows and in-meeting settings. You can override them before sharing a meeting with Asana.

Share a past meeting manually

To create tasks from highlights, open the meeting's Highlights section, select the highlights tagged as Task, and click Share highlights.

Select the Asana project and board (the defaults are pre-filled, but you can change them), then click Send. The tasks appear in your Asana project, ready for you to set priority, add assignees, and collaborate:

To share a full meeting summary instead, open the meeting and click Share meeting.

Select the Asana logo, choose the workspace and project, and the summary is sent immediately to the selected project and stage.

Set up an automated workflow

A workflow syncs every meeting or task to Asana automatically, right after the call is analyzed.

Note: Automated workflows are included in the paid MeetGeek plans, starting from Pro.

  1. Go to the Workflows tab and click Create new workflow.

  1. Set Send to to Asana. In Given a, choose Meeting to send the full summary, or Highlight to send only tasks.

  2. Select all required fields, from Workspaces to Statuses.

  3. Click Save workflow. Your next meeting or highlight syncs to Asana automatically.

Note: To sync tasks, MeetGeek needs to know the list and status to send to. A valid workflow must have every field set, from Workspaces to Statuses.

Disconnect Asana

  1. Go to the Integrations & Automations page and find Asana in your connected apps.

  2. Go to Settings > Disconnect > Save.

Note: Disconnecting removes all workflows set for Asana in MeetGeek.
