Custom sections and KPIs let you capture exactly the information that matters in your meetings. Here are the best practices for creating effective ones.

In this guide:

Create effective custom highlights & KPIs

  1. Start simple. Begin with 2–3 key predefined or sections and test them on existing meeting summaries.

  2. Use the Regenerate summary button in the Summary tab to test variations quickly.

Now run the new analysis.

  1. Keep it simple for accuracy. Simpler sections are more accurate. For inspiration, look at the examples in our pre-defined templates.

  2. Use concise titles and descriptions. Keep titles to 2–3 words and descriptions to 10–15 words. Avoid long text.

  3. Balance specific and broad. Aim for the middle:

    • "Important topics" — too vague. ❌

    • "Product feedback" — specific, yet broad enough. ✅

  4. Prioritize the title. The title carries more weight than the description.

  5. Avoid questions. Don't phrase highlights as questions or exclamations.

  6. Keep highlights distinct. Combine similar highlights into one.
